Aicha Ben Dhia
Consultant specialising in environmental transition challenges
Aicha Ben Dhia is a brain in motion. Whether biking through Paris or travelling all over Europe by train, she puts her ideas into action wherever it helps. Trained in maths at the ENS, in human investing in Senegal, ground-research at MIT, she is also a passionate musician and football-lover. She supported investment projects and developed the 2050 agri-food sector strategy.
Aicha met Marie in 2012 during her internship at Elaia Partners while pursuing her master’s degree in mathematics and economics at the École normale supérieure de Paris. She quickly developed a taste for field work and entrepreneurship. She then worked at AFIG Funds, the first pan-African VC fund based in Senegal. She decided to deepen her understanding of the economic systems in the United States and joined the Economics PhD program at MIT under the supervision of Esther Duflo (Nobel Prize, 2019). During her PhD, she led several empirical projects on employment and vocational training in France and West Africa, combining statistical analysis and field experiments with public institutions and private companies.
