Marieke van Iperen

Co-founder & CEO, Settly

Marieke is the CEO and Co-Founder of Settly. She dropped out of school at age 16, however still filled with many questions, went out into the world looking for answers.

To pay for her first plane ticket she started working in recruitment, and in each country she found a job locally to pay for the next ticket. The trip ended up lasting nearly 15 years, and took her across all continents from Europe to Latin America, China, South East Asia, Australia, UEA, Africa, UK & US. Her passion for people, culture, diversity and inclusion paved the way for a career in HR and she worked in leadership roles for Uber, Starbucks, Manpower, Nike, Adecco and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Each country she lived in strengthened her belief to create a world where DEI&B is the norm. Hence she co-founded Settly, and embarked on a mission to make everyone feel at home, no matter where you come from, what gender you identify with, or how much you earn.
