Paris, 6 July 2026: Future Positive Capital’s portfolio, the pan-European early-stage fund founded by Sofia Hmich is transferring its management to 2050, the evergreen investment platform founded by Marie Ekeland.
The management transfer brings the combined platform overseen by 2050 to €210 million across approximately 30 companies in healthcare, energy, environmental restoration, and ocean conservation.
Together they form a platform of 32 European and transatlantic companies, including Future Positive Capital’s €63 million Fund I and its 15 portfolio companies, demonstrating the mission-aligned investment approach both firms were built on at greater scale.
“This partnership is the continuation of years of mutual trust and a shared conviction,” said Marie Ekeland. “Sofia built something with deep intention and executional rigor: a remarkable portfolio of founders tackling problems that truly matter, often long before the market fully understood their importance and worth. 2050 was built precisely for that kind of stewardship, and we’re proud to carry that work forward.”
Founded by Marie Ekeland, 2050 invests through an evergreen structure which can support growing companies that do not fit neatly into the regular venture capital structure. Its model enables long-term alignment between founders, capital, and mission, creating the conditions for ambitious companies to compound value over longer time horizons. 2050 is targeting a €1bn investment platform, with the ability to support companies building in sectors that impact the physical world, including climate, healthcare, and industrial transition.
Sofia Hmich said that 2050 was a natural home for Fund I’s portfolio, because of its unique approach. “Joining the 2050 ecosystem gives the next decade’s defining companies access to a structure specifically designed for long-term alignment and enduring value creation. Marie values permanence and understood early that maximizing the potential of mission-driven companies requires continuity, patience, and the ability to stay deeply committed through every stage of growth. That structural courage is rare in venture capital and is deeply valuable for the ambitious founders Future Positive Capital stands alongside.”
Future Positive Capital’s investment philosophy is best understood through the founders and companies it has chosen to back. Conceivable Life Sciences is building the world’s first AI-powered automated IVF lab, bringing a Nobel Prize-winning therapy to the 95% of people who cannot yet access it. Upway, now the world’s largest refurbisher of electric bikes, is making second-hand the first choice for riders. Aerones’ robots service the turbines behind more than half the world’s wind power. Each, like every company in the portfolio, is built on the same conviction: that the companies solving the world’s hardest problems will create its most enduring value.

About Future Positive Capital
Future Positive Capital is a European venture firm, based in Paris, charting courses to futures we aspire to live in. Founded by Sofia Hmich, the firm invests in founders harnessing science and technology to serve global needs across healthcare, climate adaptation, and sustainable energy, always in markets that are universal, urgent, and traditionally overlooked. The firm’s investment philosophy is attuned to the shifting societal and planetary realities shaping each era, and built around a central conviction: the founders solving the world’s hardest problems will create its most enduring value. It backs full-stack founders who own the entire value chain, and with it, the defensibility that value creates.
That conviction is built into the firm’s own economics: 100% of its carried interest is linked to its companies’ measurable real-world performance as well as their financial performance.
