Thomas Guérin Calmettes

Process Investment Manager

Thomas has a passion for transformative and impactful organisations. During his studies at Centrale Paris, he took a gap year to create ReCube, a field research project conducted in seven emerging countries to measure the impact of various circular economy companies.

After finishing his studies, he joined an impact VC (Alter Equity) in Paris, participating in Innovafeed’s first investment round (alternative protein for animal feed). He then worked at an impact startup studio in Paris, developing innovative projects within multi-talented teams (Engineering, Design, Marketing) for leading French and international companies such as Safran, Intermarché, P&G, and Saint-Gobain.

While working on a water saving project with P&G in Mexico City, Thomas reconnected with Sistema.bio, a leading decentralized biogas company he initially met during his circular economy field study. The company was finalizing a Series B funding round, and Thomas joined the team to lead the product department spread across Mexico, Kenya, and India.

Upon returning to France, Thomas met with Marie and Olivier, drawn by his enthusiasm and curiosity about 2050’s unique model. That was a match and Thomas joined 2050 team. His initial role at 2050 is to enhance operational efficiency to increase impact and further develop 2050’s innovative financial product.
